We have recently added a number of piano solo tracks by Christopher Peacock. He first performed as a percussionist with the Madison Symphony Orchestra. He later studied composition with the L.A. Philharmonic's William Kraft. Peacock has released albums including Island Time, Oceans, Suite Dreams, Destination, Pianoforte, Pianoel Volume 2 and Traveler. He is the featured pianist at the Rosario Resort in the San Juan Islands of Washington State.
Floyd Cramer (October 27, 1933 – December 31, 1997) was an American Hall of Fame pianist who was one of the architects of the "Nashville Sound." He popularized the 'slip note' piano style where one note slides effortlessly into the next. This was a major departure from the percussive piano style which was popular in the late 1950s. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Cramer grew up in the small town of Huttig, Arkansas, teaching himself to play the piano. After finishing high school, he returned to Shreveport, where he worked as a pianist for the Louisiana Hayride radio show.

The Yahoo Group BIandV post for historic information as follows Ever wonder how many people were employed at a Beautiful Music radio station in their heyday? I have started the WGER FM 102.5 Historical Society on Facebook. The station covered mid-Michigan with an 86,000 watt signal and was a beloved icon in its day. I’ve posted some pics of the staff and station from old print ads as well as included an audio link with some jingles and liners. Hopefully more to come.
Hope some on this group who are also on Facebook will join even if they don’t recall this station as it is a journey into our collective past and the love and preservation of its memory.
Jim Ameche(Don's brother) was the first to succeed with a nationally syndicated DJ show in the 1950s. James Ameche (August 6, 1915, Kenosha, Wisconsin – February 4, 1983, Tucson, Arizona) was a familiar voice on radio, including his role as radio's original Jack Armstrong on Jack Armstrong, the All-American Boy. When his older brother, Don Ameche, left his position as the host and announcer for The Chase and Sanborn Hour in the early 1940s, Jim took over for the remainder of the show's run. He also was heard as mountie Jim West on ABC's Silver Eagle (1951-55). He was heard on stations in Los Angeles and Palm Springs in the late 1950s and early 60s. For many years he was a popular local radio personality in the New York City area. By the late 1960s, he was working as an announcer on New York's WHN and the TV pitchman for a Longines Symphonette Society mail-order record album featuring clips of old-time radio broadcasts. Peter Nero (born Bernard Nierow, 22 May 1934) is an American pianist and pops conductor. Nero recorded his first album in 1961, and won a Grammy Award that year for "Best New Artist." Since then, he has received another Grammy, garnered ten additional nominations and released 67 albums. Nero's early association with RCA Records produced 23 albums in eight years. His subsequent move to Columbia Records resulted in a million-selling single and album - Summer of '42.

While possessing a stylistically distinct sound, Hisaishi's music has been known to explore and incorporate different genres, including minimalist, experimental electronic, European classical, and Japanese classical. The film: Daigo Kobayashi is a devoted cellist in an orchestra that has just been dissolved and now finds himself without a job. Daigo decides to move back to his old hometown with his wife to look for work and start over. He answers a classified ad entitled "Departures" thinking it is an advertisement for a travel agency only to discover that the job is actually for a "Nokanshi" or "encoffineer," a funeral professional who prepares deceased bodies for burial and entry into the next life. While his wife and others despise the job, Daigo takes a certain pride in his work and begins to perfect the art of "Nokanshi," acting as a gentle gatekeeper between life and death, between the departed and the family of the departed. The film follows his profound and sometimes comical journey with death as he uncovers the wonder, joy and meaning of life and living. Written by Regent Releasing
